Diego Ruvalcaba is a drummer, percussionist and producer based in Los Angeles who brings a deep sense of groove and creativity to the music. He is constantly on the search for new music and enjoys playing a diverse array of styles such as Pop, Rock, Jazz, Latin, Funk and Fusion. His passion for music and his craft is shown in his great feel and rock solid support of the music and his warmhearted personality.
Diego grew up in Toluca, State of Mexico where he picked up the drums at the age of fifteen. After a short period of exploring the drums as an autodidact, he was accepted at the Jazz program of the prestigious Conservatory of Music of the State of Mexico (COMEM). Right after graduating with honors in the four-year program, he was offered a position as a drum teacher. While teaching, he further studied composition at the Fermatta Music Academy in Mexico City. In his pursuit of further growth, he moved to Los Angeles in 2012 to study at Los Angeles College of Music (LACM) in Pasadena, California under Ralph Humphrey, Joe Porcaro, Aaron Serfaty, Matt Starr, Tony Inzalaco, Mike Paker and more.
Diego has tremendous experience in live, studio, and TV situations. Throughout his career he has toured and recorded extensively in USA, Japan and Mexico with artists such as Fairground Saints, Masumi, Empire Assembly, Luis Mora, Hector Jardon and more.
Diego has recently worked with producer, John Avila (Steve Vai, Oingo Boingo), Dorian Holley (Michael Jackson, American Idol) and Matthew Wilder (No Doubt, Mulan).
